Piano studio

Kai-Han Yang Piano Studio offers personalized piano lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Each student receives weekly individual lessons, with instruction tailored to meet the expectations of both the teacher and the parents, as well as the student's unique learning style and needs. The lessons aim to not only teach students how to play the piano but also to nurture them into becoming well-rounded musicians. This holistic approach includes fundamental training in music theory, developing a keen musical sensitivity and taste, and fostering a deep appreciation for music. Students have the opportunity to perform throughout the year, including biannual recitals and participation in musical events organized by groups such as KCMTA, KMTA, RCM, and M.A.M.A.

Tuition

Tuition is charged by semester during the school year, rather than per lesson or hourly. There are two semesters: Fall and Winter/Spring. Each semester consists of 15 weeks, with consistent monthly tuition regardless of the number of lessons in a month. Summer lessons in June and July will have prorated tuition. Full tuition is due regardless of attendance, ensuring everyone receives the same number of lessons.

Rates per Semester (5 installments from August through December):

30-minute lessons: $160 per month
45-minute lessons: $240 per month
60-minute lessons: $320 per month

Tuition is due on or before the first lesson day of each month and can also be paid in full for the semester or year. This fee covers the lesson, the teacher's expertise and training, preparation for recitals and events, membership in professional organizations, and other studio expenses.
Accepted Payment Methods: Cash, check, Apple Pay, Venmo, or Zelle. Please note that tuition is nonrefundable.

Canceled Lessons

Your paid tuition reserves a dedicated time slot in the teacher's weekly schedule, and every effort should be made to attend each lesson. No payment credit or makeup lessons will be provided for missed lessons, regardless of the reason. No exceptions.

In cases where travel to the studio is impossible due to weather, a lesson can be conducted via FaceTime at the regular lesson time. If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson outside of the "No Lessons" dates marked on the Studio Calendar, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time.

Performance Opportunities

Students are highly encouraged to participate in the studio recitals held twice a year (Winter and Spring) and other performance opportunities, both competitive and non-competitive. The teacher will announce all activities and relevant enrollment deadlines. Students who sign up for competitions or auditions are expected to commit to the necessary preparation for optimal results. Participation in these events may be at risk for students who are not adequately prepared.
